KATHAK DANCE PROGRAM
Kathak is derived from the Sanskrit word katha meaning story, and katthaka in Sanskrit means he who tells a story, or to do with stories.Kathak is a North Indian Dance style that originated in the temples of India. It has evolved from an solo art form into a dance style that also incorporates great usage of space, fast footwork, spins and geometric arm movements.
Tarana's Kathak Program
With over 20 years of experience in Toronto guiding young dancers in their path for dance. Tarana is home to many aspiring, established and trained Kathak Dancers.
Classes are held once a week, with professional development programs available as well as Kathak Exams. Tarana invites prestigious gurus and masters of Kathak Dance for students to grow and learn! Tarana has established an environment for students to expand their skills in a cultured art form that will stay with them forever.
